| 1. Run Power IT Standardization Forum |
|
In order to lead the efforts for standardization in "Power IT"
(referring to the convergence of electrical power technology
and information and communications technology, similar
to 'intelligent power system and apparatus technology'),
we have established a system to support these standardization
efforts by holding a forum composed of renowned experts
from industry, academia and research centers, and have
sought strategies to ensure the success of the project
by fostering more experts in the field.
|
|
2. Operate Qualification Exemption
System |
|
We have operated the Qualification Exemption System,
which exempts outstanding heavy electrical machine companies
who exhibit high quality management and are equipped
with independent testing facilities from receiving certification
tests.
|
| ¢Â Exemption applied to |
| ¢º |
Certified products bearing
the ISO 9001 (certification for quality management system) label, and products on par with these products |
| ¢º |
Products that have received
standard tests from accredited testing agencies |
|
| ¢Â Items under exemption |
| ¢º 8 items : |
current transformers,
circuit breakers, switches, fuses, metering outfits,
protection relays, lightning arresters, and cable termination
kits |
|
|
3. Set Collective Standards |
|
We have enacted the collective standards of the Korea
Electric Manufacturers Association to ensure the reliability
and stability of products under the following circumstances:
|
| ¢Â |
A simple standard cannot
be applied, as the specifications of the product have
become complex due to the advent of new technologies,
fusion products, and Power IT technologies |
| ¢Â |
An objective assessment
cannot be made, because there is no existing standard |
|
|
4. Ensure Product Liability |
|
We offer advice through the Dispute Settlement Committee
and Subcommittee to swiftly and efficiently resolve
disputes related to Product Liability (PL) of heavy
electrical machines. In addition, we provide insurance
to minimize the financial burden to heavy electrical
machine companies. |
